|Description:||The Recreational Specialist is full performance level work in developmental habilitation and rehabilitative treatment/support activities and/or programs for individuals or groups of individuals with developmental disabilities. Shares leadership responsibilities with coworkers in performance duties to fulfill work responsibilities. Mentors lesser skilled staff by providing individual supports and training.|
|Duties:||Full Time(T-Th-F-Sat 1pm-9pm; W 10am-6pm)|
|Qualifications:||Prefer Bachelorís Degree in Recreational Therapy;
High School Diploma or Equivalent. Meet the requirements for a recreational specialist. Experience with children and/or developmental disabilities preferred. Utilization of time management skills. Interpret, apply and explain applicable rules and regulations. Maintain confidentiality of individual served and staff.
Respond to requests and inquiries from the general public, family members and support team members.
Understand and follow instructions.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Each individual working shall be qualified by temperament, emotional maturity, judgment, and understanding of residents necessary to maintain the health, comfort, safety, and welfare of individuals in psychiatric residential facilities. [KDHE PRTF Regulations 28-4-1207(a)]
Current in Safe Crisis Management, CPR, First Aid certification and Lifeguard Instructor, Current LMC Drivers License, Pool Procedures, and Water/Pool Safety.
Special considerations include age requirements to meet state agency regulations and/or to meet insurance carrier requirements (i.e. KDOT, KDHE, Kansas CMS [PRTF]).
This position must maintain a good driving record.
